Appreciating a flower should be a natural and a simple act. Only a flower and a special kind of attention is required. But the busy mind assumes that simple acts and simple things are unimportant because they are unnecessary for survival, or perhaps because busy minds often judge the simple as unworthy.
When we become accustomed to devoting our attention to the complicated and to the necessary, it is easy forget that even the simple and the unnecessary are also important in the art of living.
